Dear Friends of Camp Lake Louise,
Once again the holiday season is approaching and with it, the end of another year. As the weather cools and we enter this busy and sometimes hectic season, I can’t help but think back to warm summer days in Northern Michigan, enjoying the beauty of Creation and the profound presence of God at the best place on earth: Camp Lake Louise.
For the past five years I have had the privilege of spending time as a cabin leader during 5th and 6th grade camp. Like so many others, Camp Lake Louise has become a special place to me. The peaceful serenity of nature and the Christ centered focus combine to provide a blessed retreat for all who come. More recently, I have been able to serve on the camp board of directors as camp treasurer and enjoyed becoming increasingly involved with the inner workings of Camp Lake Louise.
As the year draws to a close, we invite you to celebrate with us as we reflect on the many ways the Lord has blessed Camp Lake Louise during the year gone by. In regards to 2014, we rejoice to report the following observations:
- Served almost 500 children, families, senior adults and special needs campers
- Continued the “Psalm 68:5” initiative helping 68 campers from fatherless homes and assisting 55 campers with general scholarships
- Maintained lower than average registration costs for campers through generous individual donations
- Constructed a beautiful new four season, duplex style, cabin to increase camp capacity and better accommodate campers and families with specific needs
Looking forward to the upcoming 2015 camping season, we are excited for the year to come. By God’s grace we strive toward living out the focus of Camp Lake Louise: “Leading campers to know God, to love God, and to serve God, through faith in Jesus Christ.”
As we continue to walk with the Lord by faith, seeking to diligently maintain that which has been entrusted to our care, we would be so grateful for your help. Camp Lake Louise relies heavily on the generosity of individuals’ donations and financial gifts to support the ongoing operations of camp. Would you be willing to simply ask the Lord if he would have you play a part in supporting the ministry of Camp Lake Louise this year? We trust that God’s Holy Spirit will connect the hearts of his people to the needs of this vital ministry that has touched so many lives for several generations.
For those who have given in the past and continue to give on a regular basis, we praise God for your willingness and extend to you our most sincere thanks. You make Camp Lake Louise possible! If you have no financial capacity to give, we would covet your continued prayers. We know and believe the prayers of God’s people are effective and powerful!
Please know we remain committed to providing you, your children, your church, and your friends with a Christ centered, biblically based experience at Camp Lake Louise. It is the heart of who we are and the reason why we exist.
Continually grateful for you,
Calvin Chanski and the Camp Lake Louise BoardRead More
